Tartu Sport will celebrate its 20th anniversary with an active family day at Tähtvere Sports Park on May 23 from 12:00 to 16:00. The event will open with the season-opening freestyle competition, preceded by a tricks demo, workshop, and safety gear introduction.
At the heart of the day is the opportunity to try various sports and physical activities free of charge. Organizers welcome active lifestyle enthusiasts and Tartuvians to join the celebration. The initiative aims to raise awareness of sports and recreation opportunities available in Tartu.
According to Tartu Sport director Eve Lill, physical activity does not have to be about performance, but rather a simple joy of everyday life.“Our mission is to increase awareness among residents and visitors of Tartu about the public and easily accessible sports opportunities available in the city. One of the goals of the anniversary celebration is also to show that regular physical activity is a natural part of everyday wellbeing and something everyone can enjoy at every stage of life,” Lill explained.
One of the day’s highlights for children will be the Limpa kids’ disco, where children can dance their hearts out together with Limpa and dance instructor Liisa Mugra from Error Dance School. The children’s party will be made even more special by a playlist curated by primary school students from Tartu Veeriku School under the guidance of teacher Mari Timmi.
There will also be an open gym workout led by trainer Siim Savisaar, while dance teacher Alar Ojula will host an open breakdance session.
